What is the link between Sex and CSR?
Durex is not only about selling condoms and lubricants, the brand has a higher level
purpose: Durex is committed to sex education and sexual health globally.
More than 1 mio sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day worldwide.
Over 40% of the 18-24 years old don’t use reliable contraception when having sex.
Shockingly high numbers which need to be talked about and prevented. Recognizing that the
majority of young people are not comfortable with discussing sexual practices how could the
message about safe sex get attention?
In the practical part the group was asked to develop a communication strategy to raise
awareness for prevention of STIs. The Workshop was led by Reckitt Benckiser, a global
force in consumer health, hygiene and home and the owner of the iconic Durex brand.
